What to do if you have concerns about a child or adult:

  1. Speak to your Practice Safeguarding Lead
  2. Record exactly what you have seen/heard, the place, date, time
  3. Consider whether you need to make a referral to social care, seek advice. You may only have a small snapshot of information but this could be very significant in protecting the child or adult at risk
  4. Is the child/vulnerable adult in immediate danger? Is a crime being committed? Do you need to call the police?
  5. Advice and support is available from your CCG Safeguarding Leads:

Campaigns

Hidden Carers

The ‘Hidden Carers’ Campaign launched on the 3 June 2019. This is a joint piece of work between the Berkshire West and East Berkshire CCG Adult Safeguarding Teams. It came about following learning from some safeguarding reviews, which showed that some carers, often living with a parent or sibling, become socially isolated and don’t know help is available. More information can be found Here.

Lift The Baby

Liz Stead and her colleague in Berkshire East, have launched an excellent campaign called “Lift the Baby.” The campaign comes after figures showed more than 130 babies die in the UK every year, and there were 6 deaths across Berkshire in the last 10 years, because of unsafe sleeping.

You will find a link to the video which was supported by London Irish Rugby Club Here.
